Vibe Typer responds with "thank you" instead of my transcription
Resolve the issue where Vibe Typer only responds with 'Thank you' by fixing your microphone input settings.
The Problem
Users may encounter a situation where Vibe Typer responds with "Thank you" or similar short phrases regardless of what was said. This typically indicates that the application is not detecting any actual speech input.
Why This Happens
This behavior usually occurs when Vibe Typer is listening to silence or background noise because the correct microphone is not selected or the input volume is too low. When the AI processes silence or very low-level noise, it might hallucinate a polite closing like "Thank you."
Solution: Check Microphone Settings
1. Check System Microphone Settings
First, ensure your microphone is working correctly at the system level.
- Windows/Linux: Go to your system sound settings and verify that your intended microphone is set as the default input device and that the input volume is sufficient.
2. Configure Vibe Typer Input
If your system microphone is working but Vibe Typer still isn't hearing you:
- Open Vibe Typer.
- Go to Settings -> System.
- Locate the Input Device or Microphone selection.
- Manually select the correct microphone device from the list instead of "Default".
Once selected, try speaking again to verify the issue is resolved.
