Preferences Sync
See which Vibe Typer settings sync across devices and which settings remain device-specific.
Preferences Sync keeps core Vibe Typer settings attached to your account so a new device can pick up the way you work.
Settings that sync
Vibe Typer syncs these user preferences:
- Selected transcription language and favorite languages.
- Dictionary entries.
- Magic Formatter settings.
- Tone preferences.
- Paste Preferences, including default mode and per-app rules.
- Recording indicator appearance.
Settings that stay local
Some settings are intentionally device-specific because they depend on hardware, operating system permissions, or installed apps:
- Microphone input device.
- Local transcription history.
- Local logs and diagnostics.
- OS permissions such as Accessibility, Microphone, keyring access, and Wayland setup.
- App-specific recent targets discovered only on that device.
When sync applies
Preferences sync after you sign in. If you change a synced setting on one device, another signed-in device can receive the updated value when it next refreshes configuration.
If a setting looks wrong on one device, check whether it is a synced preference or a local OS/device setting before reinstalling the app.
