How to Do Voice Typing in Confluence Pages (It’s Easier Than You Think)
Documentation moves faster when you can speak your ideas. In the official docs checked for this article, we did not find a built-in Confluence voice dictation workflow, but you can add system-wide Confluence voice typing to pages and comments with Vibe Typer.

No Native Dictation in Confluence
Confluence’s editor is flexible, yet it offers no mic button and no built-in speech to text. If you have been juggling external recorders and paste workflows, you know how disruptive that is.
Use Vibe Typer to Dictate and Rewrite
Vibe Typer enables voice typing anywhere your cursor can type. Press and hold your configured shortcut to speak and release to insert the text. You can also select any text in a page and ask Vibe Typer to rewrite it - for example “make this more concise” or “change to a step-by-step list”. If you copy content to your clipboard, you can ask Vibe Typer to generate a reply or draft based on your spoken instruction.
Setup and Workflow
- Install Vibe Typer from vibetyper.com on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Open a page or comment in Confluence and place your cursor in the editor.
- Hold your Vibe Typer shortcut, speak in full sentences, then release - no need to say punctuation.
- Use headings and bullet lists as you like; Vibe Typer handles punctuation without voice commands.
- Select rough passages and tell Vibe Typer to rewrite for clarity or tone.
Formatting Tips
- Keep paragraphs short and scannable. Use voice to add headings and lists
- For tables or code blocks, dictate the content first, then format with the editor
- Review quickly and apply a final rewrite if you want a different tone
