Run Vibe Typer in 3 steps.

Open your Downloads folder, right-click VibeTyper.AppImage and choose Properties. Turn on "Executable as Program" (Ubuntu 24.04, Fedora), or under Permissions tick "Allow executing file as program" (Linux Mint, Ubuntu 22.04, KDE) or "Is executable" (older KDE). Prefer the terminal? Run chmod +x ~/Downloads/VibeTyper.AppImage then ~/Downloads/VibeTyper.AppImage.

Double-click the AppImage. If Vibe Typer asks to set up Wayland (the default on Ubuntu 24.04 and Fedora), choose Configure now and enter your computer password once. If a "Hotkey error" message and a question about resetting the hotkey pop up, click OK on the first and Cancel on the second. Sign in with your email and the 6-digit code we send you. If the setup said Wayland support is configured and asked you to restart, you can skip the computer restart: quit Vibe Typer (Quit in the tray menu, or choose Set up later and then Quit Vibe Typer in the account menu) and double-click the AppImage to open it again.

Click where you want to type in any app, press Ctrl + Space and speak. Press it again to stop, and your words appear at the cursor. You can change the hotkey in Settings.
